Karters manufacture:-
Traditional single glazed
Sash windows faithful copies of the originals in every
detail. All moulding details, narrow glazing bars, horn shapes, moulded box
frame section, curved and circular headed frames. We work to exacting standards
required by English heritage and local conservation offices.
We work on houses from the Georgian era through
Victorian and Edwardian properties.
Double
glazed
We manufacture sash windows using traditional methods
but incorporating modern double glazed units. The sealed units are 24mm,
toughened glass for safety and security, argon filled and low E coated for
maximum heat retention, surpassing building regulation "part L" requirements.
All fitted with brush pile draught proofing system, fitted to meeting rails and
internal staff beads, reducing heat loss and draught dramatically and allowing
the sash's to glide up and down with ease; also reducing dust penetration.
Sound proofing being one of the greater properties of double glazed sash's that
is often underestimated, increased by our use of 24mm thick sealed units and
brush pile draught proofing system.
Our double glazed window frame sections are very close
in detail to original window sections, maintaining that authentic look. Our
double glazed sash's are hung using weights, cords and pulleys in the
traditional manner, avoiding inferior spring balances on both performance and
aesthetic levels.
Repair
and Refurbishment
Karters Sash Windows offer a comprehensive repair
service as it is not always necessary to replace a window.
If windows are painted shut, draughty, rattling or
generally in need of sympathetic maintenance our refurbishment and draught
proofing service will give a new lease of life to your original windows; saving
you the cost of total renewal. Refurbishment includes:-

Replace all beads with brush pile draught strip fitted

security (key operated) restrictors.

Any other repairs to sash's, frame or cill etc. can be
priced as a addition after survey is completed
Associated Joinery
Karters Sash Windows offer a bespoke joinery service
along side our range of windows, French doors and frames, front entrance doors
constructed in the original style and quality to compliment your new windows.
Traditional folding shutters installed, whether an original feature or a modern
addition. A range of casement windows available to suit your requirements.
Fitting Service
Karters Sash Windows pride themselves on the fact that
they do not subcontract their fitting. All installation are completed by our in
house fitting team, who are polite considerate and clean workers.
Prior to installation the entire floor area of the
room will be covered in plastic sheeting and hardboard to protect your
flooring. All furniture and fire surrounds will be dust sheeted, although we do
recommend delicate ornaments or fittings to be removed from the room just in
case. After fitting your windows will be cleaned and room vacuumed.
